Oh friends! A dream of mine has come true. I was finally able to write a check to Feeding South Dakota, which has been a goal of mine ever since I decided to write my book.

To the Person In Charge;
I need to tell you a short story to explain why I have enclosed a check for $1000.00, as well as a book. I have been a mental health therapist for 44 years. I retired 8 years ago. It is this 2nd phase of my life that I write to you about. I know this will sound weird; however, for 37 years God has blessed me with spiritual experiences, 14 to be exact. I have written a book titled “Benedictions Given to an Ordinary Woman,” by Kristin Gedstad, and the book was published by HopeBooks five months ago. The book shares each spiritual experience with the reader, and there are 14 completely different stories that I write about.
Prior to publication, I decided that every penny from the sale of my book will go to Feeding South Dakota. I opened a new bank account to keep track of the proceeds. I am pleased and humbled to present you with this check from the total sales of my books thus far. And I am ready to place my book around town (Not just on Amazon) for people to view and perhaps purchase. In my heart, I can NOT make any money off these benedictions God has given me. They are a gift to my heart and soul, and it would be wrong to take the money for myself.
Feeding South Dakota has become a concern of mine, which is why I have chosen your agency/program as the recipient of all proceeds from the sale of this book. Once my book account reaches another $1,000.00, I will write you a check for your program of feeding others in the State of SD for that exact amount. I am sorry it is not more. I wanted to send you a check for $5,000.00, as that was my initial dream. But sales are slow as I have not yet put the book ‘out there.’ You see, I have kept these spiritual experiences of mine a secret for 37 years. I have only recently shared them publicly (and to a small degree) as I feel vulnerable about letting the world know what I have privately held as my own. I have felt nudged to write this book for years…though my last spiritual experience was 1½ years ago, it is the last story in my book. I am enclosing a softcover book so you can see my heart in this process.
I hope to have my book at the Christian bookstore in Sioux Falls, Crossroads, soon. I also plan to put it downtown at Zambrose and at the airport. It is now available at my brother’s pharmacy in Canton, SD, Haisch Pharmacy, and at the new Pasque Bookstore in Brookings, SD, where I raised my 2 children. My family moved there in 1989, but after everyone had grown and left, I returned to Sioux Falls.
Well, enough of the family history! I just wanted to share a bit of history, so you know this is a legitimate offering that I am making to you. The check is real!
